Apple added buttons back to the new iPod Shuffle. That will make it a lot easier to control the device. I actually like the shuffle over the nano. The price is $49 and comes in many different colors. Perfect for working out.

Apple refreshed the Apple TV today. It’s a quarter of the size of the previous generation and has no internal storage. The new size and new internal storage results in a nice price drop to $99. At that price you aren’t giving up anything and got some additional features. The new Apple TV has built-in Netflix streaming. It fits perfectly with the Apple TV navigation and give you all the Netflix streaming options. If you can’t find it on Netflix you can now rent TV shows and movies through the Apple TV. TV shows start at 99 cents and movies are $4.99. If you can’t rent it or stream it with Netflix, you can stream videos from your iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone with AirPlay. AirPlay works over wireless to stream content from your devices.
I wasn’t that impressed with the first AppleTV but new version added enough improvements for me to pre-order.

The iPod Nano now features a touchscreen. Almost the entire front is a screen allowing you to navigate around with your fingers. It has a belt clip on it so you can clip it anywhere and take it with you. It comes in a different range of colors. Price is $149 for the 8GB and $179 for the 16GB.

Apple finally decided to release the iPod Touch with a camera. I have been waiting for that feature for some time. Not only did they add a camera but they added one to the front and back. It gives you the ability to use FaceTime like on the iPhone over wifi and also shoot HD video to share with family and friends. The iPod Touch is also getting the retina display. It keeps it in line with the iPhone 4 but will also bring those higher resolution games to the Touch. The last new addition is called Game Center. Game Center is an app that allows you to compete with friends on apps you have downloaded. You can unlock achievements and see how you rank against your friends.
The new iPod Touch is $30 more at $229. You can read more about the new features at Apple.

Apple announced that it will be live streaming the event tomorrow. It isn’t the first time Apple has live streamed a event but it’s been a long time. I wondering if the streaming the event might be a hint at an announcement about streaming. I hope so. I would prefer the live stream but there will still be lots of sites live blogging the event as well. Not every office allows you to stream videos but you still want to know what’s going on.
